It’s already October, and before you know it, Halloween 2019 will soon turn the corner. Halloween is one of the most fun and exciting activities that people of all ages participate in. You may go trick-or-treating with friends or to a costume party full games, Halloween is a fun time for everyone. However, people have a nasty habit of leaving their costumes up to the last minute.
What To Do After You’ve Left Your Costume Till The Last Minute
Halloween can be a fun time if you participate in it. Unfortunately, thanks to our innate laziness and undisciplined procrastination, many of us end up leaving our costumes on the back burner. I had a wonderful idea last Halloween to go as Chewbacca from Star Wars, but I spent too much of my free time watching Hallmark on Spectrum. Before I knew it, it was Halloween, and I had to do a ridiculous Tin Man costume with aluminum foil because I ran out of time.
If you have been through a similar situation, you know how annoying it is to be wearing the worst costume in the gang. Luckily, these last-minute Halloween ideas can work very well if you find yourself in that position again:
- Nudist on Strike
- Smarty Pants
- Carpool Karaoke
- Men In Black
- Queen of Hearts
- Kermit Meme
Let’s take a closer look at these costumes below.
Nudist on Strike
This is one of the laziest and easiest costumes you can do on Halloween. It doesn’t take much creative energy but still manages to come off as funny and witty. All you need is a placard and some string. Write “Nudist on Strike” on the placard and use the string to tie a loop around it. Wear your everyday clothes, put the sign around your neck, and be the ultimate lazy costume winner this Halloween. We recommend using this costume only if you have very little time.
Smarty Pants
Smarty Pants is another easy, lazy costume idea that still ends up getting lots of laughter at parties. What you need is a pair of jeans, around 10 rolls of smarties, and some glue or tape. Tape or glue the smarties rolls to your jeans, making sure they are visible from all angles. Then simply strut around the party or home until people begin to wonder what you’re dressed as. When someone asks, you give them the tongue-in-cheek answer “I am Mr/Mrs/Miss Smarty Pants”.
Carpool Karaoke
The Carpool Karaoke costume only works well if there are 2 or more people. You can do it with your significant other or with a group of people. Cut out a cardboard piece about 3 feet by 4 feet. Using craft paper or paint, make it look like the front of a car. You don’t have to go overboard with detail, just enough to make sure everyone can understand what you’re carrying what appears to be the front of a car or bus. Round off the look with an old-fashioned boombox or a Bluetooth speaker. Then simply walk around with your person or group of persons, singing out funny songs at a party or shindig.
Men In Black
The Men In Black costume works best with two people. It works even better if you happen to own a pug, but that’s optional. Everyone has a black suit and white shirt of some variety in their closet. A pair of cheap, convenience store black sunglasses round off the look nicely. Once you have your costume ready, all you have to do is wander around or stand in corners, leaving people wondering what you’re looking at.
Rest assured, the Min In Black costume is unmistakable and is always a fun and easy costume to wear on Halloween.
The Queen of Hearts
The Queen of Hearts costume is a bit more specific but makes for an eye-catching attire on any Halloween party. Use the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland as your inspiration. Make a ruff by wrapping a large piece of paper around your neck. Mark the length you need to get it around your neck. Next, take a deck of cards and staple or glue them together to the paper in the shape of an old fashioned ruff. A red dress, with blood-red lipstick, will have you looking like a literal queen in no time at all.
Be the talk of the Halloween get-together this year.
The Kermit Meme
Everyone knows the Kermit meme, where he’s looking off-screen while drinking a cup of tea, accompanied by the caption “But that’s none of my business”. Ideally, you need a green, full-sleeved shirt, and a lighter green paper or cloth collar to put around the neck of the shirt. Finally, you need a teacup and a placard to hang around your neck saying “But that’s none of my business” for a simple but hilarious Kermit look.
Shout out random situations while taking a sip of tea like “If the internet is not working, I could call the Spectrum service number instead of having a spaz out ….. But that’s none of my business”. You’ll get a few good laughs from people easily.
