Once one is pregnant there are a lot of ways to get to know about it. In most cases, when the menstruation cycle stops appearing, then one can go for a pregnancy test. There are some easy home pregnancy test kits available which one can try at home because they can show more or less the accurate answers. Or else one can also go for a medical test if they want to get cent percent accuracy.
When one becomes assured about their pregnancy then the very first thing that they need to do is to consult a gynecologist. This is very much needed because one has to be very careful of the coming nine months tenure and they need to take every step carefully like what should they eat, whether they need to exercise or not, how much sleep is needed and other medical assistance. Also, when one is pregnant, there are a lot of questions and curiosities that pop up in the future mother’s mind and one can get all the answers from their assigned doctors.
But yes, knowing that one is pregnant and when one starts showing that they are pregnant; there is a lot of time gap in between that. There is not a particular set time when women start showing pregnancy. The very obvious pregnant belly appears in different times to different woman as each and everybody is different. There are some women who can continue with their pre-pregnancy belly till the end of the second trimester and there are some women who start showing their pregnant belly in the very first trimester only. There are some women who face a lot of bloating which is not the same as the showing of pregnancy swelling just after getting the positive result in a pregnancy test.
Women who are becoming a mother for the very first time mostly start developing the baby bump once they reach their 12th to 16th week of pregnancy. But if one has become pregnant earlier then they can start showing their pregnant belly much earlier than this. This happens because the abdominal muscles and the uterine have already had been stretched earlier because of the previous pregnancy.
But yes, in most of the cases the uterus starts to expand over the pubic bone when the pregnancy reaches its 12th week. Before that, the uterus still remains within the pelvis and hence it is not much visible.
But there are sometimes when the belly gets expanded sooner than expected. There can be some reasons behind this. They are:
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Gas
- There are twins inside the womb.
But there is some times when one does not even start showing their pregnant belly even the time has come. Should one fret over it? Well, the answer is no. This is because the uterus can be positioned inside the body in a variety of ways. In some cases, a woman’s uterus can be tilted to the back or can be extroverted. So, this can be a reason than the pregnant belly starts showing much later. Again, if the uterus is positioned in a forwarded manner then it might start showing earlier as well.
There is always a connection between menstruation cycle and pregnancy. Once one stops menstruating is a clear sign of one being pregnant. Then after the few months of pregnancy, the belly starts expanding. If they show late does not mean that the baby who is inside is small. But yes, if there is a matter of concern then one must consult their gynecologist and go for an ultrasound to check the baby’s growth.
